Thank you for your interest in the BlueAngel Community Health Grant program. The 2014 grant cycle is closed. Please check back in July of 2014 for information about the 2015 grant cycle.
Here is how the application process works:
- Rhode Island-based organizations working collaboratively (defined as two or more agencies) that are tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Code are invited to submit a letter of intent. Organizations must be seeking funding for programs that address the specific 2014 priority area of childhood obesity. Requests for 2014 are $75,000 only.
- Each letter of intent will be reviewed to determine its conformity to the eligibility guidelines established by Blue Cross on the basis of our available resources for the current year. Organizations completing a letter of intent will hear from Blue Cross regarding a decision to invite a full proposal.
- Organizations invited to submit a full proposal will have approximately 30 days to complete the full proposal application online. Proposals for funding for the BlueAngel Community Health Grant Program are reviewed by a diverse volunteer review committee. This committee is comprised of community representatives from both the public and the private sector. Funding decisions will be made based on the recommendations provided by the volunteer review committee.
- Grant awards are announced in December, and funding begins in January. Grants may be renewed for a maximum of one additional year (at a lesser amount) based on successful performance and results. All grant recipients will be monitored with six-month and year-end reports and periodic site visits.
