Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) is holding a wellness screening event to check vital signs on Tuesday, August 31 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Crossroads Rhode Island, 160 Broad Street, Providence. All members of the public are invited to participate.
The wellness screenings include total cholesterol, HDL (good cholesterol), and glucose (blood sugar). Fasting is not required.
It is important for individuals to regularly be screened for cholesterol and glucose levels, as high cholesterol is a leading indicator of heart disease, and high glucose levels may indicate diabetes. Understanding your risk gives you the opportunity to make lifestyle changes or seek treatment to prevent disease or even death.
As schedules are subject to change, please visit Community Events Calendar on BCBSRI.com for updates.
