PROVIDENCE, RI – Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) has opened a new Your Blue Store in East Providence to better serve the East Bay community. The 4,300-square-foot flagship store offers a variety of programs and classes, as well as expanded hours, to provide an enhanced level of service to members. Located at 71 Highland Avenue in East Providence, this latest Your Blue Store joins two others in Warwick and Lincoln.

The East Providence Your Blue Store provides a hands-on service experience for all BCBSRI members, including a large community room to accommodate free exercise classes and community events. To help members achieve their wellness goals, the store offers onsite nurse care coordination and a host of interactive tools, including a biometrics measurement device and educational activities. The new location also features private consultation space for customers exploring medical and dental coverage options or current members working with BCBSRI nursing care coordination staff.

“At Blue Cross, we are focused on connecting with the community we serve in simple and effective ways. Our new store builds on the success we have had with retail stores across the state and helps our customers improve their health and more easily understand healthcare,” said Melissa Cummings, senior vice president and chief customer officer at BCBSRI. “We want Rhode Islanders to know they have a new option offering greater choice and convenience to help plan and manage their health coverage.”

The new Your Blue Store in East Providence offers convenient hours-- until 7 p.m. --two nights per week. The store is also staffed by a larger sales and service team, including bilingual staff.

“We recognize that many of us already have so much going on every day,” said Cummings. “With the design of our East Providence Your Blue Store we are better positioned to assist customers in ways that accommodate their busy lifestyles.”

Since 2014, Rhode Islanders have made nearly 60,000 visits to Your Blue Store retail locations to choose a health plan, explore Medicare options, ask questions about or make payments on a current plan, or take advantage of free fitness and nutrition programming.
