Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island to Offer Free Blood Pressure Screening in October

(Providence, RI, 9.7.2010)

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) will hold a free blood pressure screening session on Sunday, October 2, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the 4th Annual Ronald McDonald House of Providence Women's 5K Race at the Brown University Stadium in Providence. All members of the public are invited to attend.

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is one of the most common chronic conditions in adults. Since uncontrolled high blood pressure can result in serious health problems such as heart attack or stroke, it is important to have it checked regularly. Attendees of the BCBSRI screening events will learn how to easily check their blood pressure levels and find out what steps they can take to keep it under control.

Registration for this BCBSRI screening event is not required.
