PROVIDENCE, RI (April 4, 2012) – Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) is holding a series of free blood pressure screenings during the month of April. All members of the public are invited to attend.
The events will take place on the following dates:
• Wednesday, April 18, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Calcutt Middle School, 112 Washington Street, Central Falls.
• Thursday, April 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Salvation Army of Pawtucket Food Pantry, 102 High Street, Pawtucket.
• Tuesday, April 24, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Jonnycake Center, 1231 Kingstown Road, Peace Dale.
High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is one of the most common chronic conditions in adults. Since uncontrolled high blood pressure can result in serious health problems such as heart attack or stroke, it is important to have it checked regularly. Attendees of the BCBSRI screening events will learn how to easily check their blood pressure levels and find out what steps they can take to keep it under control.
Registration for the BCBSRI screening events is not required.
