Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island to Offer Two Free Blood Pressure Screenings in August

(Providence, RI, 8.3.2011)
  -

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) will hold two free blood pressure screening sessions in August. All members of the public are invited to attend.

The events will take place on the following dates:

  • Thursday, August 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Camp Street Ministries, 190 Camp Street, Providence.
  • Thursday, August 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Bradford Jonnycake Center, 21 Industrial Drive, Westerly.

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is one of the most common chronic conditions in adults. Since uncontrolled high blood pressure can result in serious health problems such as heart attack or stroke, it is important to check this vital sign regularly. Attendees of the BCBSRI screening events will learn how to easily check their blood pressure levels and find out what steps they can take to keep it under control.

Registration for these BCBSRI screenings is not required.
