To help Rhode Islanders better manage their nutrition, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) will sponsor two Nutrition 101 events in May. All members of the public are encouraged to attend.
The first event will take place on Saturday, May 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Healthy Kids, Happy Community Fair, Elizabeth Baldwin Elementary School, 50 Whitman Street, Pawtucket. The second event will be on Tuesday, May 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 160 Broad Street, Providence.
Eating a healthy diet is one of the best ways to prevent chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and even certain cancers. However, the overwhelming amount of nutrition information available can create confusion and frustration for individuals looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This BCBSRI program is designed to educate attendees on proper nutrition. Assisted by a certified health educator, attendees will enjoy the opportunity to participate in valuable hands-on demonstrations and can freely ask any nutritional questions.
No registration for the BCBSRI Nutrition 101 event is required.
