Company honored with 12 awards to date for member publication

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island was honored with two Gold MarCom Awards presented by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals for Choices magazine. These two accolades for Choices, a member publication focusing on health and wellness information, bring the total editorial and graphic design awards to 12 in 2010 alone.

"We are truly grateful for the recognition received in communicating with our members," said Michele B. Lederberg, executive vice president at BCBSRI. "BCBSRI understands that there is nothing more important to our members than their health. No matter how we communicate with them, our goal is to offer information and tools that enables individuals to live a healthy lifestyle. When we can help our members improve their health and quality of life, we are able to focus on our ongoing efforts to provide access to high quality and cost effective care for all Rhode Islanders."

With more than 5,000 entries from throughout the United States and several countries around the globe, Choices magazine won Gold Awards in the Writing/Magazine category for Choices Winter 2009 and in the Design/Magazine category for the Choices Spring 2010 issue.

The MarCom Awards are an international competition for marketing and communications professionals, the largest competition of its kind in the world. Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talents exceed a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.

Choices magazine also has been recognized this year with four Hermes Creative Awards, three Communicator Awards from the International Academy of the Visual Arts, one Gold National Health Information Award, presented by the Health Information Resource Center, and two accolades from the American Graphic Design Awards.
