Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) will sponsor two free blood pressure screenings this month to help Rhode Islanders identify unnoticeable health risks. All members of the public are encouraged to attend.
The first screening will be held on Thursday, December 16 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Nickerson Community Center, 133 Delaine Street, Providence. The second screening will take place Friday, December 17 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Salvation Army of Pawtucket located at 102 High Street, Pawtucket.
High blood pressure typically arises without symptoms and is one of the most common chronic conditions in adults. Individuals with high blood pressure are at risk of serious heart, kidney, and eye complications. By receiving a five minute blood pressure screening, adults can understand if they need to take necessary precautions to decrease their chances of these complications.
No previous registration for the BCBSRI screenings is required. As schedules are subject to change, please visit Community Events Calendar on BCBSRI.com for updates.
