Kim Keck, president and CEO of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, releases statement regarding federal cost sharing reduction program

Providence, RI – In response to the most recent healthcare reform news from Washington, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) president and CEO Kim Keck has released the following statement:

“Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island is committed to providing access to high-quality affordable healthcare for all Rhode Islanders. In keeping with this commitment, we believe that the federal government must continue to play an appropriate role in supporting access to affordable care for all Americans through the cost sharing reduction (CSR) program enacted as part of the Affordable Care Act in 2010. CSRs provide a critical subsidy that reduces the healthcare cost burden for our most vulnerable populations. We will continue to advocate for federal government funding of these subsidies.”
