His responsibilities, experience, and background
Mr. Hudson’s responsibilities include financial management and planning, expense control, and overall company profitability, as well as oversight of the accounting, actuarial, and vendor management areas of the company.
Prior to joining Blue Cross, Mr. Hudson served as CFO for Health Plan Holdings located in Tampa, Florida, where he was responsible for the company’s strategic financial planning, customer profitability, investor relations, and all aspects of financial management. Mr. Hudson also previously served as CFO for Aetna Inc.’s small and middle markets, and held several finance and operations leadership positions for Cigna Healthcare, Inc. Earlier in his career, Mr. Hudson held positions with Prudential Insurance Company of America, Towers Perrin Reinsurance Company, Ernst & Young LLP, and Provident Life & Accident Insurance Company.
Mr. Hudson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, and a Masters of Business Administration at Yale University. In addition, he has earned professional qualifications from the American Academy of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries, where he is a fellow. He currently lives with his wife and two sons in Warren, Rhode Island.
