Mr. Hanlon has played an integral role in moving Blue Cross forward with Blue TransIT, the multi-year transformation of our information systems that will enhance our ability to quickly deploy new products and benefit designs—thus giving us a strong foundation to meet future healthcare needs.
Mr. Hanlon also represents Blue Cross on the Rhode Island Quality Institute's currentcare advisory committee, which is focused on the development of an independent statewide repository of electronic health records available to all providers.
Mr. Hanlon is responsible for technology infrastructure and application development. In addition he leads the Enterprise Program Management Office, which supports crisp execution of our many business initiatives by ensuring that all projects throughout the company are managed in the same way and work toward clearly documented and measurable goals.
Before joining Blue Cross in 2010, Mr. Hanlon's career included IT leadership responsibilities at Citizens Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland Group, and National Australia Bank. He is a 1989 graduate of the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics.
A licensed soccer coach, Mr. Hanlon has served as a volunteer coach with the Ocean State Soccer organization for over five years, developing teams from North Kingstown and surrounding areas.
