How he's helping transform healthcare in Rhode Island
Mr. Rodriguez is leading Blue Cross's efforts to address healthcare disparities and improve the quality of healthcare offered to Rhode Island’s increasingly diverse population.
Mr. Rodriguez is also building strategies and programs in support of Blue Cross’s employee diversity and inclusion efforts, which include attracting, retaining, and developing talent and creating an organization that better understands the unique needs of the state’s minority population.
His responsibilities, experience, and background
Before joining Blue Cross, Mr. Rodriguez was Chief Diversity Officer at Baystate Health, the largest healthcare services provider in western Massachusetts. He was responsible for the leadership and integration of corporate diversity and inclusion strategies for the nonprofit organization. Earlier in his career, he held positions with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield in Maryland, where he spearheaded a major diversity and cultural competence initiative. He also previously held positions at Tru Corporation and Xerox Corporation.
Mr. Rodriguez is a resident of Suffield, Connecticut, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan.
His community involvement
Mr. Rodriguez currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Massachusetts.
