Malissa is a trusted advisor, with over nine years of experience helping people simplify Medicare and Medicare coverage options. She helps Medicare beneficiaries find personalized coverage that’s best for their unique needs. She actively identifies what is important to each member and guides them through the process each step of the way. Malissa also collaborates with other retirement specialists to give her clients a holistic approach to retirement planning. She continually communicates and advocates new ideas and innovations based on member feedback and community resources to ensure that Rhode Island residents are getting the coverage that is critical to them.
As a Medicare Consultant, Malissa spends most of her time in the community. She specializes in hosting informational seminars and meeting personally with clients. Her goal is to help Medicare beneficiaries be informed about Medicare by teaching them and other advocates the “A, B, C, and Ds of Medicare.” She educates clients on when and how to apply for benefits, helps them select the coverage that is best for them from an array of options, and ensures her clients experience a smooth transition. A native Rhode Islander, Malissa currently lives in North Kingstown and graduated from the University of Rhode Island with high honors.
Malissa is currently a BlueAngel Representative and volunteer. She actively arranges many fundraising activities, participates in planning the Blue across RI employee day of volunteer service, and has donated many volunteer hours to help Rhode Island nonprofit organizations. In 2012, she nominated St. Martin DePorres Senior Center in Providence for “Coins for a Cause,” and they received food and monetary donations that enabled them to continue feeding the hungry.
In addition to her volunteer work, Malissa is active in the community hosting speaking engagements and working with advocates to educate as many people as possible about Medicare. Malissa works with organizations such as senior centers, The Point, and Tri-Town Community Action. She is also part of the United Way’s Young Leader’s Circle.
