How can I find out if the prescription I take is covered by my plan?

A non-formulary drug list is included with your benefit package. If you are taking medication not on that list and would like specific coverage information, please contact BlueCHiP Customer Service at the numbers below:

What types of health services have limited coverage?

Some BlueCHiP products have services with some limitations. Some of these include:
Chiropractic
Behavioral health
Acupuncture
Annual routine exams
Vision services
Cardiac rehabilitation

What is COBRA?

COBRA stands for Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act. COBRA is applicable to employers who have health plans in the private sector and state and local government who have twenty or more employees.

Qualifying Events for Employees

  • Voluntary or involuntary termination of employment for reasons other than "gross misconduct"

  • Reduction in the number of hours of employment causing loss of health insurance

  • Members workplace ceases to exist

Qualifying Events for Spouses

  • Subscriber's death

  • Subscriber's involuntary layoff

  • Subscriber's workplace ceases to exist

  • Divorce or legal separation

  • Employee becomes eligible for Medicare

Qualifying Events for Dependant Children

  • Loss of dependent child status. Coverage is available for 36 months.

BlueCHiP does not offer direct payment plans other than BlueCHiP for Medicare. If you are interested in a Direct payment plan, please contact our Individual Sales Department at (401) 351-2583 or 1-800-505-2583
