Support during severe weather
During difficult times like hurricanes, floods, and wildfires, we understand it might be difficult to get the care you need. We hope the following information can help.
Access to care
Members who are affected by severe weather can use our Doctors Online service for non-emergencies if you cannot get to a doctor’s office. It’s always a good idea to download the Doctors Online app from Google Play or the Apple App Store* or visit drs-online.com and register so it’s ready if you need it.
Doctors Online is a telemedicine service provided by American Well®, an independent company that administers Doctors Online on behalf of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island.
Prescriptions
Members who are affected by severe weather may be able to refill their prescriptions early, for the duration of the emergency, to ensure they have access to the medications they need. Call Customer Service (below) to see if you are eligible.
