Preauthorization requirements
BCBSRI members have several ways they can look up preauthorization requirements for services. Patients should speak with their provider, who can usually provide information specific to the patient’s health plan. But members also can use any of these tools as well:
- Check your benefits in your online member account for information specific to your plan.
- Medicare members can log in to myBCBSRI, go to the Benefits section, and find the service in question.
- All other members can log into BlueCare Connect. In the Benefits section, choose Medical Plan Status and choose the specific service you need.
- Review the medical policies listed below.
