A statement from Kim Keck, President & CEO of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) has long been a vocal supporter of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the protections it provides to ensure access to high-quality affordable care. We also applaud actions taken by Rhode Island prior to the passage of the ACA to adopt many of the protections found in the ACA, such as making health insurance available to everyone, regardless of any pre-existing medical conditions, and allowing young people to stay on their parents’ health plans until age 26.

BCBSRI remains committed to working with the governor, the General Assembly and the Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner to meet our shared goal – to ensure that all Rhode Islanders have access to high-quality affordable healthcare.
