In November, Rhode Island will join communities far and wide in recognizing World Diabetes Day and National Diabetes Month. This year, Rhode Island is offering a full month of free virtual programming throughout November 2026. The RI World Diabetes Day Committee extends a warm invitation to healthcare professionals, community members, and colleagues to join us for a series of presentations, discussions, and Q&A sessions, all available virtually. CME/CE credits will be available for physicians and select other professions. Health provider presentations include sessions on diabetes prevention and management, including the following:
- Wednesday, November 4th - Diabetes and Stress Management
- Thursday, November 5th - Diabetes Stigma: One Nurse/Patient's Perspective and a Call to Action
- Monday, November 9th - The Value of Early Diagnosis and Care Pathways in Type 1 Diabetes
- Monday, November 16th - New Therapies in Type 1 Diabetes
- Monday, November 23rd - Beyond the Prescription: Improving Access to Diabetes Medications During Care Transitions
Sessions take place from 12:00-1:00 pm Eastern time and are geared for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, pharmacists, registered dietitians, community health workers, and social workers. Registration is free and available here
