BCBSRI announces partners for 2026 Blue across Rhode Island
PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) announced today the nonprofits that will participate in Blue across Rhode Island, the company’s annual day of service.
Every year, more than 500 BCBSRI associates fan out across the state in organized teams and spend the workday rolling up their sleeves to paint, plant, build, and tackle a variety of projects that help community and social service organizations fulfill their missions.
Blue across Rhode Island is one of the largest company-sponsored volunteer events of its kind in the state. Recently, the event received national honors when Points of Light again named BCBSRI to The Civic 50, its list of the leading community-minded companies in the country, and specifically recognized Blue across Rhode Island with its Companywide Volunteering Activation Award.
Marking the 15th anniversary of Blue across Rhode Island, this year’s event will feature a total of 15 projects and take place on Friday, Sept 18. The event will support the following nonprofit partners and the projects they developed to help improve Rhode Islanders’ quality of life:
- AccessPoint RI
- Amenity Aid
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Rhode Island (multiple branches statewide)
- Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island
- Feed RI
- Gotta Have Sole Foundation, Inc.
- Hope Alzheimer's Center
- James L. Maher Center
- Project Undercover
- Rhode Island Mission of Mercy
- Sojourner House
- South County Habitat for Humanity
- The ELISHA Project
- Women's Resource Center
Participating nonprofits this year were revealed at a spirited kickoff for Blue across Rhode Island. Team leaders presented details of the 2026 volunteer opportunities to their colleagues, who were then encouraged to sign up for the project of their choice.
“Blue across Rhode Island is a special tradition because it brings our associates together to make a meaningful difference in communities across the state,” said BCBSRI Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility Carolyn Belisle. “But it's also part of a larger commitment to service. Throughout the year, our associates volunteer their time, share their expertise, and support nonprofits working to improve the quality of life for Rhode Islanders. As we mark our 15th year, we're proud to continue showing up alongside these organizations and the communities they serve.”
To build enthusiasm for the projects to be tackled in September—and generate some fun competition—participating nonprofits and their supporters are encouraged to vote in the "Best of Blue across Rhode Island" contest hosted on the BCBSRI Facebook page beginning mid-August. The top winners will receive additional grants to support their organizations' missions.
To enhance associate participation in Blue across Rhode Island, BCBSRI’s five Your Blue Store locations will be closed on Sept. 18.
