January is Mental Wellness Month

January is Mental Wellness Month – a perfect time to shift one’s focus from what can be a hectic holiday season to one’s own well-being. Mental wellness includes all the actions you take to ensure your mental health needs are being met and maintained.

BCBSRI is committed to the health and wellness of its members, particularly the connection between one’s mind and body. Members can visit rhodeahead.com to find helpful information on various topics such as:

  • Food and nutrition – Cooking tips, healthy recipes, ways to eat healthy on a budget
  • Fitness – Yoga and healthy living classes at Your Blue Store (with locations in Cranston, Lincoln, Warwick, East Providence, and Narragansett)
  • Health – Information regarding vaccines/health screenings, mental well-being, caregiver support, resiliency
  • Virgin Pulse Journeys – Multi-week, guided courses that help members successfully form and adopt new healthy habits. Journeys create a highly personalized and persuasive experience with a combination of technology and clinical excellence by breaking a key behavior or larger goal into smaller achievable steps. Relevant journeys include “Care for Yourself While Caring for Others,” “Recognize and Overcome Burnout,” and “Learning to Make an Advanced Care Directive,” among many other self-care classes.
