NOCD is a virtual solution for BCBSRI commercial members ages five and older with a diagnosis of OCD and/or other related disorders staffed by licensed clinicians and supervised associates. Treatment provides access to evidence-based, specialized care for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and several frequently co-occurring conditions that often go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. A variety of assessments are used, along with clinical judgement, to assist in decision making around session frequency as well as appropriate level of care. Consultation with prescribers is also available with outside agencies.
To more deeply serve the most complex segments of the community, NOCD has augmented their extensive clinical training programs to support the network in addressing the conditions that commonly co-occur with OCD and are related to OCD. These conditions include the following:
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Tic disorder
- Hoarding disorder
- Excoriation (skin-picking) disorder
- Trichotillomania
- Co-occurring PTSD
These conditions impact 10.7% of the population and are often under-identified in general practice due to the complex nature of these conditions. By providing targeted virtual therapy, NOCD helps reduce barriers to care and improve outcomes for patients who might otherwise remain untreated or inadequately supported.
Providers can refer patients using the NOCD provider referral form linked here.
