At BCBSRI protecting provider and member information remains a top priority. As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening the security of our online tools and resources, BCBSRI will be implementing a two-factor authentication requirement for users signing into the secure provider portal on bcbsri.com.
Effective September 1, 2026, providers and provider office staff will be required to enter a two-factor authentication code when signing into the secure provider portal on bcbsri.com.
After entering their username and password, portal users will receive a one-time authentication code through their configured contact method such as email or text message. A contact method must be selected for the first time signing in. Users must enter the code to complete the sign-in process and access the provider portal.
This change is intended to provide an added layer of protection and help prevent unauthorized access to secure provider portal accounts. The existing provider portal functionality will remain available after users complete the two-factor authentication step.
If your office has questions or needs assistance with provider portal access, please contact Provider Relations at ProviderRelations@bcbsri.org.
