Effective December 2021, the following changes are in effect regarding Medicare LCD for epidural steroid injections

• LCD name change – Lumbar Epidural Injections (L35937) National Government Services, Inc. replaced with Epidural Steroid Injections for Pain Management (L39036)
• Content is now expanded to include cervical, thoracic, and lumbar and no longer specific to lumbar only
