New year, new resources

Happy New Year! Thank you for your partnership. We want to remind you that all our 2022 Medicare Advantage plans are rated 5-Stars by CMS (yes, even BlueRI for Duals (HMO D-SNP)). Not only do we want to provide 5-Star service to our members, but it’s also important to provide 5-Start support to you. You asked for member communication insights—we listened.

Member communication insights

There’s a new section on the Broker Resource Center titled Member Communications. Here, you’ll find direct mail pieces, brochures, and other member communications that your clients may be receiving.

BlueRI for Duals (HMO D-SNP) Benefits Resource Guide dropped in members’ mailboxes beginning January 6. It is in English and Spanish.

Traditional MA Member Benefits Brochure drops in members’ mailboxes beginning January 12. Spanish-speaking members can scan the QR code on the back of the brochure for a digital copy in Spanish OR call the Medicare Concierge team for a printed copy.

Over-the-counter benefit Mastercard

By now, all members should have received their OTC Mastercard. This Mastercard, which has the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) logo, needs to be activated by members before use. No PIN is required to use the card when CREDIT is selected as the payment type.

Members can sign up for/log in to their personalized member portal at Members.NationsBenefits.com/BCBSRI or call 1-833-690-0180 (TTY: 711) to activate the card or for cardholder transaction information.

If they choose, members can set up a PIN to make purchases using DEBIT as the payment type. This is completely optional—there is no benefit to either payment method. Members can call NationsOTC directly at 1-866-304-2138 (TTY:711) and an agent can set up a PIN.

Some in-person classes cancelled

A schedule of member workshops for January – March 2022 was also sent with the Traditional MA Member Benefits Brochure. However, to protect our members’ health during this recent rise in COVID-19 cases, we have cancelled in-person classes at Your Blue Stores for the next few weeks. The stores are still open to answer benefits questions. In the meantime, members can join virtual classes at Your Blue Store Studio on Facebook Monday through Friday at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
