Starting January 1, 2019, BCBSRI will enhance the pharmacy product portfolio by adding the new HSA Preventive Drug benefit. This enhancement can be paired with any HSA-qualifying high-deductible health plan. The benefit applies flat-dollar copays before the deductible for drugs on the approved preventive drug list. For Small Group customers, this benefit will be added to all BlueSolutions plans in the 2019 portfolio. For Large Group customers, this benefit will be an option for both fully insured and self-funded clients as an enhancement to their pharmacy plan.
