Preventive care starts with your PCP
Every team needs a quarterback, and your primary care provider (PCP) is the one in charge of coordinating your care. A PCP cares for you as an entire person (physical, mental, and emotional) in addition to overseeing all your routine care. When you get preventive care service through your PCP, they can better picture your overall health.
A few of the preventive services covered under a Medicare plan include:
- Annual wellness visits
- Some cancer screenings, such as breast, prostate, colorectal, lung, and cervical
- Diabetes, alcohol misuse, and hepatitis C screenings
- Flu shots, glaucoma tests, and help to stop smoking
