Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) will sponsor free blood pressure screenings at two upcoming Farm Fresh Rhode Island events in Providence.
The first screening will take place on Thursday, August 19 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Armory Park located at the corner of Parade Street and Hudson Street. The second screening will be held on Saturday, August 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 807 Broad Street. All members of the public are invited to participate.
An estimated one in four American adults has high blood pressure (hypertension). Hypertension is referred to as a silent disease because it often has no signs or symptoms, and many people do not realize they have it. If left untreated, hypertension can lead to a heart attack, stroke, or kidney failure.
To find out your blood pressure, visit one of the BCBSRI blood pressure screening events for a five-minute blood pressure test.
As schedules are subject to change, please visit Community Events Calendar on BCBSRI.com for updates.
