Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) will sponsor a free blood pressure screening event on Thursday, September 2. The screenings will take place at the Rhode Island Free Clinic, 655 Broad Street, Providence, RI from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. All members of the public are invited to participate.
An estimated one in four American adults has high blood pressure (hypertension). Hypertension is referred to as a silent disease because it often has no signs or symptoms, and many people do not realize they have it. If left untreated, hypertension can lead to a heart attack, stroke, or kidney failure.
Rhode Islanders interested in learning their blood pressure are encouraged to visit the BCBSRI blood pressure screening event for a five-minute blood pressure test.
As schedules are subject to change, please visit Community Events Calendar on BCBSRI.com for updates.
