Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island to Offer Free Blood Pressure Screening in Honor of National High Blood Pressure Education Month

PROVIDENCE, RI (May 8, 2012) – Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) is holding a free blood pressure screening during the month of May, which is National High Blood Pressure Education Month.  All members of the public are invited to attend.

The event will take place on Monday, May 21, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the 5th Annual Mary House Health Fair, 244 Smith Street, Providence.

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is one of the most common chronic conditions in adults.  Since uncontrolled high blood pressure can result in serious health problems such as heart attack or stroke, it is important to have it checked regularly.  Attendees of the BCBSRI screening event will learn how to easily check their blood pressure levels and how to keep their blood pressure under control.

Registration is not required for this BCBSRI screening event.
