Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island to Offer Free Nutrition Advice

(Providence, RI, 7.1.2009)

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) will offer "Nutrition 101", a free health information session, on July 8 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at St. Edward's Food and Wellness Center, 1001 Branch Avenue, Providence. All members of the public are invited to participate.

Good nutrition is a vital part of achieving good health, but there is an overwhelming amount of nutrition information available to the public, making it difficult to determine what is best to eat. This free session from BCBSRI will offer hands-on nutrition demonstrations and allow participants to talk directly with a certified health educator about nutrition, weight loss, healthy snacking, eating on the run, fad diets, dietary guidelines, and more.

As schedules are subject to change, please visit our Community Wellness Events calendar for updates.

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island is the state's leading health insurer and covers more than 600,000 members. Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
