Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) is sponsoring a free wellness screening event for all members of the public. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 28 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Crossroads Rhode Island, 160 Broad Street, Providence.
Attendees will have their total cholesterol, HDL (good cholesterol), and glucose (blood sugar) levels checked. Along with providing details on their current health standings, this BCBSRI event will offer attendees helpful steps in to make positive lifestyle changes and how to better manage their health.
Participating in wellness screenings regularly decreases the chances of developing serious health risks unknowingly. High cholesterol is the leading indicator of heart disease and high glucose levels may indicate diabetes. Screenings allow for the prevention or early diagnosis of these diseases.
Fasting is not required to participate in the BCBSRI wellness screening event.
