Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) will sponsor a free sun safety screening on Saturday, April 23 from 9:00 a.m. – 11 a.m. The event will take place at the Cambodian New Year Celebration, which is hosted by the Cambodian Society of RI, at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston. All members of the public are invited to attend.
Early detection and treatment of sun damage is critical, as repeated sun exposure can cause premature skin aging and increase the risk for skin cancer. The BCBSRI sun safety screening uses DermaView technology to help individuals determine if they have sun damage on their face. Attendees will also learn safety tips on the proper use of sunscreen and steps to take to avoid sunburns and long-term skin damage.
No registration for the BCBSRI sun safety screening is required.
Please Note: Bare skin is best for the screening. If you use facial moisturizer or other cosmetics that contain sunscreen, even if it has a low SPF, please remove it before the evaluation begins.
