As summer comes to a close, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) is helping the general public better understand the harmful effects of sun damage by holding one final sun safety screening event in September.
The event will take place on the following date:
• Tuesday, September 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Camp Street Ministries, 194 Camp Street, Providence.
Premature aging and skin cancer are just some of the harmful results of repeated exposure to the sun. BCBSRI uses DermaViewTM technology at its screening events to analyze an individual’s face for sun damage, allowing participants to view the effects of cumulative sun exposure since early childhood. Safety tips on how to avoid long-term skin damage will be provided to attendees as well.
Registration for this BCBSRI sun safety screening is not required.
Please Note: Bare skin is best for the screening. If you use facial moisturizer or other cosmetics that contain sunscreen, even if it has a low SPF, please remove it before the evaluation begins.
