Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) today announced that it has received three Communicator Awards for Choices magazine. Choices, BCBSRI's quarterly publication dedicated to promoting health and wellness, is distributed to more than 280,000 member households.
"It's always an honor to be recognized for our communication efforts," said Christopher Medici, chief communications officer of BCBSRI. "Choices is a vehicle to impart meaningful information to our members so they can succeed in improving their health, and we are pleased that our peers in the communications industry have recognized this effort."
The Communicator Award of Distinction is presented for projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement. BCBSRI earned one in the association category, one for copy/writing, and one for overall design. The awards are sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only group consisting of professionals from acclaimed media, communications, advertising, creative, and marketing firms.
More than 9,000 entries were submitted for the 2009 Communicator Awards, making it one of the largest awards of its kind in the world.
Counting the three Communicator Awards, Choices has now won seven awards in 2009 for writing and design excellence. To read recent issues of Choices magazine online, click here.
