On Thursday, June 4, and Friday, June 5, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) will hold free sun safety screenings. All members of the public are welcome to participate.
On Thursday, June 4, the screening will be held at the Poverello Center, 668 Hartford Avenue, Providence, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
On Friday, June 5, the screening will be held at McAuley House, 622 Elmwood Avenue, Providence from, 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
BCBSRI uses DermaView technology to analyze an individual's face for sun damage, which can be caused by sun exposure from early childhood. You'll receive safety tips on the proper use of sunscreen and learn other ways to avoid burns and long-term skin damage.
Please Note: Bare skin is best for the screening. If you use facial moisturizer or other cosmetics that contain sunscreen, even if it has a low SPF, please remove it before coming to the screening.
